SWING STREET IS GIVING BACK!
Our community faces some of the most difficult challenges. It also thrives with love and attention. As Swing Street grows, we will continue to help our community grow with us. Our plans for the future include a sustained and aggressive outreach to young people and partnerships with grassroots organizations. Swing Street is truly committed to helping our people move forward! Here's how:
• We patronize local businesses first.
• We support African-American business.
• We donate books to non-profit organizations. For example, Swing Street has taken part in the Katrina Literary Collective, which has collected and donated over 90,000 books for Hurricane Katrina Survivors.
• We are soldiers in the war against drugs.
• We’ve gone Green; we promote the Green Movement and we encourage neighborhood beautification.
• We support lobbying efforts to improve disadvantaged communities.
• We donate personal time and resources when possible to local community causes.
• We’re joining other companies and organizations to build a stronger community force.
• We’re offering free publications, resources and information that offer our people an improved quality of life.
• We participate in community events and activities, putting our dollars back where they belong. We invest in our own!
• We're teaming with Power Contributors who want to inform, educate and enlighten by sharing their knowledge, wisdom, talents and experience. CLICK HERE for more information.
• We are assisting in the development of a distance-learning initiative geared towards African-Americans and others of African descent. The goal: to improve education, literacy and self-sufficiency so that we can advance our economic status while competing more effectively in the global market.

Building With Books: A movement of students, educators and communities, BuildOn is working to break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy in the world through service and education. The organization runs after school programs that mobilize urban youth to lift up their communities and make change in the world through intensive local service.
