Being a Queen is one of the most gratifying experiences.  It is also one of the most challenging. It is more than a status quo. It is more than a symbol of success. It is a lifelong process and a way of being that for all its troubles, brings a high reward.

Sometimes, being a Queen can be lonely. Sometimes, being a Queen can be costly. As with all worthwhile endeavors, being a Queen takes constant effort and determination.

It is very difficult to affirm your status as Queen when there are bills to be paid, problems at home/work/school and aggravating people around you. When you are ill, or broke, or disappointed in love, you might not feel like a Queen at all. When you try to be at your best, that's when others will choose to be at their worst. And cause you pain.

You must remind yourself each and every day that the throne you deserve awaits you. Your throne is majestic. Secure. Tailored for only you. All you have to do is sit on it.

There are many women who never realize their full potential, because they've never given themselves a real chance. They fall victim to their insecurities. They allow others to define who they really are. They succumb to negative thoughts and negative people. Some of us use the term "Queen" to describe ourselves, while behaving in ways that say otherwise.

Experience is a hard teacher; she gives the test fist and the lesson after. As a Queen, you will continually be tested. It is up to you to learn your lessons so you don't have to repeat them. As you rise in spirit and stature, you will find your life and your lessons becoming easier.

A Queen's life can be essentially defined as having three dimensions:

Height, Width and Depth

The Height of a Queen's life: Refers to her aspirations and ambitions.

The Width of her life: This is how a Queen expands to help others and benefit her world and community.

The Depth of her life: How a queen cultivates her spiritual center and physical health, and finds meaning outside of material things.

If a woman does not pay attention to each of these dimensions, she will find herself and her world out of balance. Once out of balance, it is harder for a Queen to retain her throne.

Maintaining balance is like juggling three large balls. Occasionally, you may drop one, two or even all of them. That is a normal part of your life's journey. What's most important is that you pick up where you left off and regain your royal focus.

When all's said and done, you will be gifted with the one thing no one can ever take away from you: you sense of SELF-VALUE. As you permanently take your regal place and sit on it with pride, it'll be worth every drop of sweat and every tear you've had to endure.
10% Off Any Order
• Always remember you are of noble blood and royal breeding. That means you are too stately for gutter relations and tacky encounters.

• As a queen, you must conduct yourself with dignity. Once you stoop to the level of a commoner (ie: chicken, tramp, ho, desperado), you lose your title and position.

• Being a queen does not mean you should be a tyrant. NO man will devote himself to a nagging, selfish, greedy or unappreciative woman.

• As Zora Neale Hurston said in her classic Their Eyes Were Watching God: Expect a man to kiss your mouth, not your feet. A man that bows to kiss a woman's feet will eventually straighten up. And walk away.

• Bestow kindness wisely. And do not allow your kindness to be taken for granted. Give only to the needy, not the greedy!

• Do not allow yourself to be abused in ANY way.  If a man makes you physically, sexually, emotionally or psychologically uncomfortable, exile him from your Queen-dom. And NEVER let him back in!

• Beware the man that loves you primarily because of what you "do" for him, rather than because of the wonderful woman you are. This kind of man tends to use women for his own purposes. Once your usefulness wears out, he will move on to someone else.

• Beware the man that wants to put you to "work". NEVER demean yourself by cleaning up after a man, or doing hard labor on his behalf. If he can sit there and watch you toil, he is NOT a real man! Forget about trying to be his "mother". Your position will quickly change from queen to servant. And he use you until you're worn out. Then trade you in!

• Beware the man who shirks his responsibilities. If he is: lazy, sloppy, negligent or unreliable, he is NOT a king and unworthy of YOU.

• When someone shows you how they are... BELIEVE them.

• To be treated as a queen, you must affirm your royal position early and continually with each new relation. It is your duty to set the tone and pace. If a man does not respect your title as queen, exile him!

• If you demand respect, you will always receive it. At the same time, you must treat others with the same respect you demand.

• Do not expect the best from someone who clearly cannot give it.

• Do not deal with people who don't (or can't) give their best.

• Do not try to change a man. It is a wasted effort.

• If you allow men to walk all over you, they will dance on your emotions, wipe their feet clean and keep it moving.

• You cannot turn a bum, swashbuckler, overgrown boy or court jester into a king. They simply do not have that kind of royalty in their blood.

• Always choose for marriage the kind of man you want NOW; not someone you think you'll want in the future. Forget about a man's "potential".  Potential is oftentimes wasted. And you'll be disappointed.

• Do not waste time with time wasters. If a man in isn’t serious about you or what you want, revoke his access privileges and move on.
Simple Ways to Affirm Your Stature as Queen
Buy yourself flowers on occasion. Just because.
Perfume, powder and lotion your lovely self daily.
Wear pretty underwear and nightgowns. For yourself.
Take a few moments each day to relax, reflect, rejuvenate and care for YOU.
Buy yourself a fancy drinking glass. Don't allow anyone else to use it. Name it your "Royal Chalice".
Buy yourself an inexpensive bottle of sparkling wine or cider. Enjoy drinking it in your Royal Vessel.
Look in the mirror each day and say: "I am magnificent! No matter how I feel or look, I am still a queen."
Masturbate. By all means... You DESERVE it!
Magnificent Black Queens In History
Name: Hatshepsut
Who She Was: 18th-dynasty pharaoh in Egypt
What She Did: This African queen ruled longer and more successfully than any other female pharaoh and depicted herself in her monuments as a king. Although successful in warfare, Hatshepsut created a long era of relative peace and returned her country to wealth and prosperity during her 20+ year reign.
Name: Nefertiti
Who She Was: Great Royal Wife of the pharaoh Akhenaten. Step-mother of King Tut.
What She Did: Known for her beauty, wisdom and intellect, Nefertiti ruled as co-regent beside Akhenaten. Prior to her reign, Ancient Egyptians worshipped many gods at once. Nefertiti and Akhenaten sparked a religious movement toward worshipping one god only (The god "Aten" aka The sun disc) and they encouraged notable advancements in the arts and sciences.
Name: Cleopatra VII
Who She Was: Last Pharaoh to Rule Egypt
What She Did: Cleopatra established power at the age of 17.  A skilled and intelligent ruler, she spoke several languages and was very charasmatic/seductive. The subject of many inaccuracies and myths (including her true ethnicity), Cleopatra was responsible for great advances in medicine, science and cosmetics, amongst other things (ie: poisons).
As African-Americans, we come from a lineage of magnificent and majestic rulers. Unfortunately, the truth about our history has been twisted, obscured and misrepresented to make us lose sight of who we really are. Ancient Egyptian history in particular, has fallen victim to a number of untruths. Read about three of the most powerful black queens that ever existed and whose legends have endured the test of time.
